Mother and son take a green-skinned train and cleverly outwit human traffickers, earning money for settling down through herb gathering and black-market trading along the way. As head of the rescue team, Huo Yunzheng feels protective toward the frail yet mysterious mother and son, and the two register their marriage and live together. A group of spirits and monsters comes to seek refuge; Xiaobao, the clever girl Shen Siqing, and the cat demon Miaomiao help make a living.
